Communication Skills: What Your Body Language Is Telling People

Whether we are delivering a formal keynote address or networking with our colleagues, our body language is screaming our message far louder than any words we say. Since we are never taught to “speak” with our bodies, we may be (and probably are!) saying one thing with our words but, without knowing it, saying something totally different with our bodies. And then we wonder why people don’t understand or listen to us! They are---we just don’t know what we’re saying! This session is a walk through your body from your feet to your face, exploring how various body movements and positions impact others. We’ll look at ineffective and effective ways to use this great tool of communications.

Judy Henrichs has been teaching communication skills for over 35 years throughout the United States. She served as a senior consultant and executive coach for the FranklinCovey Company for 13 years. As one of the nation’s top speakers on leadership and effectiveness, she’s led seminars for over 50,000 people coast to coast. Before joining Franklin Covey, she served as Director of Management and Leadership Education for Southwestern Bell, now AT&T. During her tenure there, Judy managed a wide variety of organizations, including customer service, sales, marketing, real estate and architecture. She has been manager and leader to over 2000 people in her rich career. Her position as project manager for the construction of a 44-story high-rise building gave her enough great stories to last a lifetime!
