One of 523 - Life Lessons from Space
Many of us dream of traveling to space, and yet only 523 humans have done so. We're pleased to welcome one of them to the Women's Network September Luncheon, Linda Godwin, as our speaker! Linda will share her unique career as a scientist, astronaut and pilot and the lessons she hopes will help others along the way.
Linda Godwin joined NASA in 1980. She is a veteran of four space flights, logging over 38 days in space, including two spacewalks. Her NASA career spanned the 30-year shuttle program; making her one of only 523 humans to have traveled to space. Following the NASA space shuttle program's final flight, the University of Missouri brought on Linda, MS '76, PhD '80, who now teaches an introductory astronomy course at Mizzou.
Please note the September Luncheon takes place a week earlier than usual. Join us September 11 for this unique program! Advanced registration is appreciated. Online registration is $15 for members and $18 for guests until Tuesday, September 9. Cost after the registration deadline and at the door will be $18 for members and $21 for guests.
