Making Every Day Count
The featured speaker for October is our own Kim George, J.D.; co-author of Nordie’s at Noon—the Personal Stories of Four Women “Too Young” for Breast Cancer, which has received national acclaim and been featured in national publications such as People, SELF, and the New York Times.
Kim is President of Momentum Public Strategies, and also is a “recovering” attorney, a successful business owner, a community activist, a published author and speaker and more importantly a “survivor” who provides messages of hope, inspiration and humor and encourages people to find their voice and use life’s stumbling blocks to rebuild their lives.
Kim “gets” challenge and understands the need to reframe and reclaim when life tosses a curve ball. Her challenges have also been faced by many of us, and as an author and speaker, she has a passion to tell her story and share the tools she used to not only survive, but thrive. The October luncheon will be empowering as Kim will encourage you to be proactive with your health, life and future given her experience overcoming breast cancer at a young age.
In 2002, at the age of 30, while planning her son’s second birthday Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought it and with her friends and co-authors, wrote a book about the experience and nine years later is now in remission. After breast cancer she realized life was short, so she left a successful law practice to start her own business and follow her passion. Kim knows how to make every day count – looking forward and living life
The Women’s Network October luncheon will be “pink” themed in honor of breast cancer awareness month -- so wear your pink. Kim will have a book signing after the luncheon where her books will be available for purchase.
