Women and Body Image: Love Your Body!

Join us for an interactive presentation on Women and Body Image. Struby Struble — presenter on body image, feminism, LGBTQ issues, diversity, and social justice; and currently the Coordinator of MU’s LGBTQ Resource Center—will present on media images of women; media literacy; the finances of women’s beauty and professionalism; compare and contrast “healthy,” “beautiful,” and “professional;” and will finish with tips and strategies on the importance of a healthy self-esteem and how to start (or continue) having a healthier and more positive relationship with your body, instead of negativity towards it. There will be time for questions and discussion in this lively, entertaining, and educational presentation.

Struby K. Struble, Coordinator of MU’s LGBTQ Resource Center, holds an English degree from MU. In her time since graduating, she’s lived abroad in Spain, played semi-professional soccer in San Francisco, CA, and held multiple positions in MU’s Department of Student Life, including Coordinator of the Women’s Center. She has a passion for training and presenting on topics traditionally tough to talk about, including feminism, LGBTQ identities, body image, diversity, social justice, and intersectionality. In her spare time, she loves to write, play soccer, be outside, and spend time with friends. She lives in Columbia with her awesome dog, Mr. Dibs.

Advanced registration is appreciated. Online registration is $15 for members and $18 for guests until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18. Cost after the registration deadline and at the door will be $18 for members and $21 for guests. We hope to see you there!
