Presented by: Human Trafficking is Modern Slavery – A Survivor, Advocate and Law Enforcement Speak Out Join us for this luncheon that will include The 2016 Class of Experience Women’s Network (XWN) graduation and a panel style program about Human Trafficking 101. Human trafficking is an international, national, and local crime against individuals, where children, women, and men are exploited in forced labor and the commercial sex industry. It is the fastest growing criminal industry worldwide with an annual profit of $32 billion. A panel presentation will offer you a deeper understanding of sex trafficking in particular. The vulnerability of youth, social media dangers, manipulative tactics of traffickers, high demand of sex purchasers, are but a few factors that contribute to the illegal sex trade and the overwhelming challenges in the after-care and recovery of survivors. The speakers - a sex trafficking survivor-now-thriver, a community educator and supporter of survivors and a law enforcement veteran dealing with both demand and victim recovery - hope their sharing will both inform and inspire you. What can you do to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking?
