Gardening has numerous health benefits including reducing stress and boosting your mood. For our August Virtual Lunching Outside the Box Adam Saunders, the Development Director for the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, will be talking about urban gardening for gardeners of every level. He will cover everything from steps to getting started as a beginner to what types of plants you can grow in the late summer, benefits of gardening, and resources to utilize to help make your garden flourish. Adam will wrap the event up with an overview of various programs CCUA has for gardening enthusiasts to get involved with. 

Online registration is $10 for non-EPIC members and $5 for members. To register as a member, login in using your Chamber website login credentials you set up when you became a member. Meet the Speaker: 


Adam Saunders
Development Director, Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture
 
As the Development Director for CCUA, Adam Saunders conducts outreach and promotional talks with local social groups, businesses, and potential partners. He also helps coordinate CCUA's online outreach presence, strategic planning, and fundraising efforts. Adam has been involved in community, agriculture and environmental organizing in Columbia, MO since 2005 as a student with Sustain Mizzou. He has been gardening since a young age, and, being the son of two teachers, Adam has considered himself an informal teach his whole life. Within CCUA, Adam is able to combine these passions to connect the dots within the local food system- an exciting place to be working!
