The Columbia Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the Proposition D November ballot initiative. Proposition D will generate funding to be used for improving the state's transportation systems. By increasing the motor fuel tax by two and one-half cents per gallon annually for four years (beginning July 1, 2019), it is estimated to generate $288 million annually to be dispersed to the state and local governments. These funds will be used for road construction and maintenance.
This is a great opportunity to hear the details of the plan. Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and SaferMO.com's Scott Charton will answer your questions and give more insight into the initiative.
