The Next Generation of Nuclear Energy
Nuclear energy accounts for 20 percent of our country’s electrical supply. It’s a vital part of our energy grid, but will it always be? Should it be? When you attend this seminar you will hear about how nuclear power is a critical component to our energy usage today and in the future. Join us for a discussion about "The Next Generation of Nuclear Energy." You will also learn about the current state of nuclear power and current development of advanced nuclear reactors and the efforts to bring them to market.
Our presenter, Scott M. Bond has over 33 years of experience in the nuclear power industry will lead the discussion. Scott is currently the Director of Nuclear Development at Ameren Missouri. He is a registered professional engineer and has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla. He is currently assigned to Ameren Missouri’s Callaway Energy Center. In this current role, he has responsibility for evaluation of new nuclear business projects and is also supporting Ameren’s Innovative Technology Initiative effort. This initiative was specifically developed to take a long-term view of 15 years and recommend immediate actions that position Ameren today for future success.
The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. with the presentation from 8 - 9 a.m. The cost to preregister is $12 or you can pay $15 at the door. Your ticket includes a hot breakfast, beverages and a thought provoking seminar.
