What’s more important than becoming the best you? Join us on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 for our second Lunching Outside the Box event of the 2013-2014 program year. Our panel of experts will discuss ways to better yourself and your future. You will learn ways to increase your physical and financial health, become a more active volunteer in the community, as well as the benefits of professionalism in the workplace. With our experienced professionals, you’ll discover important concepts that can increase your effectiveness at work, at home, and in the community!
Speaker Information:
Teri Cantwell currently serves as a Human Resources Officer at Boone County National Bank. Teri loves her job which involves recruiting, on-boarding, employee satisfaction and engagement, coaching and development, diversity and employee community involvement…just to name a few of her responsibilities.
While always about professionalism in her current job, Teri has learned how to be poised and professional in a very unique way. Having been a former professional athlete for USA Track and Field, Nike, Power Bar and General Motor, Teri and her husband Christian have learned it takes tact both on and off the field to be successful in either industry.
Greg Brockmeier is the most recent addition to Brockmeier Financial Services. As a Financial Advisor, his focus is on developing comprehensive planning solutions for successful professionals who are concerned with preserving their family’s assets in a complex financial environment. Brockmeier Financial Services provides independent objective second opinion review on investments, asset allocation, investment asset management, and retirement solutions beyond the conventional 401(k), as well as informative materials on preparing for family costs such as education tuition or long term care expenses. Greg provides a client experience in which business owners, professionals, and their families can have confidence in their decisions throughout all aspects of their lives.
Amanda Barnes has over twenty years of experience as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. She has counseled clients on fitness, wellness and nutrition for many years. As a wellness educator, Amanda creates corporate wellness programs and educational opportunities for businesses to offer to their employees in an attempt to combat absenteeism/presenteeism and rising health insurance costs while improving the lifestyles and lives of employees. Amanda developed the physical training program for the Columbia Fire Department's Fire Academy and served as the trainer for the Columbia Fire Department. Amanda is a personal trainer and wellness coach who focuses on exercise, nutrition and lifestyle.
Nick Foster has been executive director for Voluntary Action Center in Columbia since October of 2011. He moved to Columbia in 2010 when his wife, Candace Kuby, accepted a faculty position in the College of Education at MU. They are the very proud parents of a daughter, Carlann, born October 31, 2012. Previously executive director with the Alabama Poverty Project and then Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County, Indiana, Nick has a life-long interest and concern for low-income people and how their needs can be most effectively addressed.
The lunch will be held from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Shakespeare’s Pizza (South Location: 3911 Peachtree Dr). Cost is $10 if you register online by Friday, October 18, 2013 or $13 at the door.
