EPIC Lunching Outside the Box: Maintaining Professionalism On and Off the Clock
Help us kick off our 2014-2015 program year with an insightful Lunching Outside the Box event!
Come learn from a panel of experts on how to manage work-life balance. Our panelist are a group of recognizable faces, ones that are often viewed in the public spotlight. Learn their tips about how to handle seeing co-workers or business contacts outside of a work setting.

You see someone from work at the grocery store...what do you do? Do you avoid them at all possible costs? Should you say hi and introduce your family?

How to handle someone who approaches you outside of work and wants to talk for an hour about work issues.

How to politely just walk away.

You are out and about on the weekend, no makeup, no suit...and someone still recognizes you, now what?
These are all situations that can and do happen to all of us on a regular basis. Come enjoy lunch with other young professionals and get advice on how to handle these, and other sometimes awkward situations.

Being on air, and having recognizable faces puts these individuals in the spotlight more than even they might realize. Come learn from them about how to address various situations; Everything from running into people you know (or that know you) at the grocery store when you have your family with you and have no make up on, to handling your professionalism through social media and even how to know when you should, really run or avoid someone or a certain situation.
The lunch will be held from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Dulany Hall Banquet Room on the Columbia College Campus (600 N 8th St). Cost is $10 if you register online by Friday, July 18, 2014 or $13 at the door.
