Cliches, Cultures, and Competencies: Overcoming Barriers to Leadership Development for Millennials
Much has been said about generational differences in the workplace and the challenges that creates for developing leadership skills and gaining credibility as a leader in the workplace. This interactive session will explore the stereotypes of millennials and how those perceptions offer opportunities to develop the competencies identified as critical in the workplace of the future. We will also explore the power of organizational culture; how to read it, how to effectively change within organizational culture confines, and how to thrive as a leader in the cultural context. Participants will take away a personal leadership development plan that provides a road map for taking action on the learning objectives of the session.
