Join us for the third of six seminars in the EPIC Lunching Outside the Box 2012-2013 series. The topic will be " Engaging Effectively with Diversity and Inclusion – A Core Competency for all Professionals” with speaker Noor Azizan Gardner, Chief Diversity Officer at MU. Why is this important? In a recent study funded by Forbes, diversity and inclusion is key to innovation. For many, diversity is no longer simply a matter of creating a heterogeneous workforce, but using that workforce to innovate and give it a competitive advantage in the marketplace. And as companies compete on a global scale, diversity and inclusion frequently have to shift, as different markets and different cultures have varied definitions of what diversity means. So, where do we start? This presentation is aimed for an individual’s professional development in the area of diversity and inclusion. It will introduce the broad umbrella of diversity and the concept of enhancing our cultural intelligence (CQ) to achieve cultural competency.
The lunch will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Quality Inn (1612 N Providence Rd). Cost is $10 if you register online by Friday, November 9 or $13 at the door. Lunches will be ordered based on RSVPs. All no-shows will be billed full amount.
