She will be discussing all the exciting changes and plans in store for The Loop and how they will impact Columbia and its residents. This event is designed to help you grow your awareness of the community we live in and ensure you walk away with more confidence in networking.

Meet the Speaker:
Carrie Gartner, The Loop
Carrie Gartner received her B.A. and M.A. in Speech Communication from California State University, Fullerton and her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Utah.
Dr. Gartner has 20 years of experience in urban design, economic development, and marketing. Gartner was formerly the Director of The District, and is currently the executive director of an urban management organization dedicated to revitalizing the Business Loop with a 10-year plan to beauify and improve the corridor. Last year they were one of six communities in the nation to receive a federal grant to encourage and attact local makers and small-scale manufacturers to The Loop and this year, in a partnership with Jabberwocky Studios, they were one of five communities in the nation to be named an Etsy Maker City.
She lives with her partner in a historic bungalow just adjacent to downtown and can often be found tooling around town on her bike.
